Titanic was a big ship from factory WHITE STAR LINE. It was ship from group Olympic. It was long 269 meters, 53 meters high, 28 meters wide, displacement over 52 000 tons and the speed was 23-25 knot.


On the 1st Titanic‘s navigation across Atlantic ocean were 900 crew persons . Titanic went from Liverpool to New York. In Titanic travelled 2217 persons. There were 324 persons in the 1st class, 285 persons in the 2nd class and 708 persons in the 3rd class. On Titanic were poor and rich people.



At night from 14.4. to 15.4.Titanic crashed into iceberg. Many people didn´t believe, that Titanic is lost. Some people couldn´t use a small boats, because there were few of these boats. This night were lost over 2 000 people. Titanic´s Captain Edward J. Smith died also.

Ship Carpatia was near Titanic. It saved the rest of the people of Titanic.

The people looked for their families. Many famous and rich people died this night. For example Thomas Andrews, Edward J. Smith, John Jacob Astor, Benjamin Guggenheim, Isidor Straus, ... .


Instead of the Titanic went a few small boats to New York.



Many books and films were made about Titanic. It is a sad story of history of ships.
