The USA

The USA is situated in Northern America. It is the fourth largest country of the world after Russia, Canada and China. It has about 300 millions people.
The USA has 50 states. 48 states of them are together and 2 are sepered: Alaska in the North and Hawai - it is island.
As for the Mountains there are the Appalachian Highlands and the Cordilleras which occupy about one half of the continental USA. The Appalachian Highlands create barrier between inshore lowlands and wide inland plains. The Rocky mountains are well know because there is famous Grand Canyon. The longest river is Mississippy and it is the third longest river in the world. There are rivers Colorado, Columbia, Rio Grande and Yukon in Alaska.
The longest not guard border are lakes with Niagare water falls. The USA is Federal republic and official language is English and it is the richest country of the world. The USA was discovered by Christopher Columbus in 1492. It is situated between Atlantic and Pacific oceans. The kind of currency is dollar. The capital city is Washington DC where live about 500 thousand people and the biggest city is New York. Other bigger cities are San Francisco, Seatle, Chicago, Philadelphia, San Diego and Honolulu in Hawai and so on.
The head fo state is president George Bush who has executive power. There is Údolí smrti which is the lowest place in the USA. The biggest peak of the USA is in Alaska - it is Mount Mc. Kinley which has about 6 thousand meters. The second highest mountains is Mt. Whitney in the continental USA.
The USA borders on Mexico in the South, the Atlantic ocean in the East, Canada in the North and the Pacific ocean in the West. On the Hawai there is main marine base of US Pearl Harbor. Some states of the USA are for example Texas, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Colorado, Washington, Nevada and so on.
